On Sunday, 13 July, Winyama Contracting Group proudly hosted a NAIDOC Week celebration at the Tambrey Pavilion — bringing together staff, families, and community members for an evening of culture, connection, and reflection.
This year’s theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” resonated strongly throughout the event. As a business deeply grounded in Aboriginal leadership and community values, it was a moment for us to reflect on the legacy we’re continuing, and the future we’re helping shape.
A Night to Remember
The event featured something for everyone — from traditional food and cupcakes decorated in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander colours, to face painting, kids’ activities, and plenty of good yarns shared between colleagues and community.
It was a relaxed, family-friendly environment that brought people together in the spirit of celebration and togetherness. Seeing so many families and children join the event reminded us of why NAIDOC matters — it’s about acknowledging the past, empowering the present, and investing in those who will carry our culture forward.
