Winyama Contracting Group is incredibly proud to celebrate Director Arthur “Artie” Ramirez, who was recently recognised with the Indigenous Leadership Award at the Developing Northern Australia Conference in Alice Springs.
The recognition was a significant moment for Arthur and the wider Winyama team, acknowledging his leadership, commitment to community and contribution to creating opportunities for Aboriginal people and businesses.
The journey to Alice Springs took Arthur from Karratha to Perth, Adelaide and finally Alice Springs for three days of learning, networking and conversations about the future of Northern Australia.
The conference also provided an opportunity to reconnect with people from across the region and further afield, including local Karratha councillors, industry representatives and longstanding connections.
For Winyama, Arthur’s award represents more than an individual achievement.
The values recognised through the Indigenous Leadership Award — strong relationships, community, leadership and creating opportunities for others — are the same values that have helped shape Winyama Contracting Group from the beginning.
From an idea to a growing Aboriginal-owned contracting business delivering services across the Pilbara, Winyama’s journey has always been about building something that creates opportunities beyond the work itself.
